Perhaps in democracy there is no one perfect.....Because we as human beings are also not completely perfect. Everyone has their own shades...good or grey !! Its all about the intensity and mutual level of adjustibility. In all persons there is somewhat good and somewhat bad. Same is the case with political parties as in democracy parties represent people itself. How do we choose between the various shades of grey?
In recent Indian era to curse politicians and politics is in vogue and fashion, specially amongst educated and wanna be sophisticate. But is this a solution? We know every political parties have their own flaws. No one is perfect. But rejecting all or selecting none is not at all solution to our problem. It will not give stable government. With Indian people, there is a two fold problem, either they curse all, or inadvertently side one with prejudice. They make choice and paint there party white and call everyone else black. Whenever there's a discussion on the strength and weaknesses, you side with your club and call everyone else names. If you like modi, call everyone else incompetent and pseudo-secular. Like congress? Call everyone else communal and inexperienced. Like AAP? Call everyone else anything- corrupt, communal, biased, paid as if AAP is perfect.It really keeps young mind in fix and makes great thriving democracy...doesn't it?
I think the best way to deal with this is create competition and let market force decides the best seller. Let our mind apply the task of choosing between shades of grey. Let us choose one, but never let them feel they are perfect. Let us reject another, but never let them feel they are entirely useless. Never epitomize any party and keep any party on its toe. I think with these many parties in India the task is much easier. Let us create tough competition for everyone. It is easier to slot people as good or totally bad. But in fact a good person may do something wrong in a lapse of judgement or given the circumstances. In the same way, there are no pure evil people on this earth.Let us incentivize the good and we will find politician turning good. Provide incentive to do something bad, and politician will do the same. It only we, the common people who decides the fate of democracy. Politicians are just reflection of ourselves. All politicians are mixed grey bags...Grey is tough to handle. But grey is life.
I think 2014 is game changing election. Whoever comes to power will always feel unsecured if they will not listen the common voice. They will always be on their toe and definitely try to deliver..Welcome to the dance of democracy
